B2B MERCHANT SELF-SERVICE
01 / OVERVIEW
Avin was developed as part of a broader merchant ecosystem that included five customer-facing applications and a centralized admin panel used by internal teams. The ecosystem was designed to connect merchants, POS devices, support operations, and business management workflows through a unified platform. My primary focus was designing the Avin mobile experience while maintaining consistency with the other product ecosystem.

Problem
Merchants relied heavily on call-center support for routine tasks such as device management, issue reporting, and warranty requests. This created delays, inefficient communication, and friction in daily workflows. The challenge was to simplify these interactions through a mobile-first self-service experience that reduces support dependency and improves operational efficiency.
Goal
Design a scalable merchant platform that enables users to independently manage their POS-related operations while reducing the need for direct customer support interactions.
02 / discovery
Through internal business insights and merchant support analysis, several recurring operational pain points were identified.
03 / TARGET AUDIENCE
The target audience for Avin is highly specific, tied directly to the customer base of our company's POS hardware. The app serves two distinct user groups: the POS Owner/Merchant (B2B focus) and the POS User/Staff (Operational focus).
Primary User — The POS Owner & Merchant
The primary problem Avin solves is providing the company with an efficient way to manage customer accounts, and allowing customers to independently manage their purchased hardware.
Secondary User — The POS User & Staff
This user segment consists of anyone within the business who needs to operate or configure the POS terminal, including store staff or employees. Their focus is on operational efficiency.
Market Context — Avin is specifically designed for the Iranian market and targets the entire existing customer base who have acquired POS hardware from our company. Users engage with the platform on their personal smartphones for remote management—analytics, updates, and warranty checks—and directly on Android-based POS terminals for in-store transactions and configuration.
04 / SOLUTION
Solution
To reduce dependency on customer support and simplify merchant operations, the experience was designed around a centralized self-service dashboard. The product structure focused on making important actions easily accessible while minimizing complexity for users with varying levels of digital experience. The app was designed to support both individual merchants and users managing multiple stores and POS devices.
Warranty Management
Give merchants independent access to activation and warranty status.
Multi-Store Management
Keep multiple businesses and their connected POS devices organized.
POS Registration
Support registration and visibility of important operational information.
UX Strategy
Simplified navigation · Easy-to-scan information · Accessible visual design · Multi-store organization
Design Constraints
Android-first usage · Low digital literacy · Wide range of age · Clear visibility of important operational information
05 / FOUNDATIONS
Typography
Given that Avin operates in the Iranian market, using Yekan Bakh is an excellent design choice for a payment and POS management application. Its modern, highly legible geometric structure ensures clarity for critical numerical data and transaction details, which is paramount for both financial security and merchant efficiency on small screens.
Color
The use of the company's vibrant primary color (a teal/green) for crucial elements effectively reinforces brand recognition while instilling a sense of trust and modernity, which is essential for a financial and management application. This cohesive palette, supporting both light and dark modes with clearly defined neutral tones, ensures visual consistency and optimum readability across all device types, including the POS terminals.
06 / ui kit
As a core part of the project, I created a robust UI Kit specifically for Android, strictly following Material Design guidelines. This approach ensured a native, familiar look and feel that enhances usability and provides a consistent user experience across the merchant's devices, which include both smartphones and Android-based POS terminals. This set included adapted components such as buttons, input fields, icons, navigation elements, colors, and fonts.
07 / EXPerience
Dashboard

The dashboard was designed as the primary operational hub, allowing merchants to quickly access stores, devices, payment services, and account-related actions from a single centralized interface.
A card-based structure and simplified navigation system were used to improve accessibility and reduce interaction complexity.
